Academic Integrity
Students are expected to approach training and assessment activities in an ethical manner. ATMC students strive to conduct themselves with integrity and do not engage in plagiarism or cheating.
Definitions
CheatingThe use of any means to gain an unfair advantage during the assessment process. This includes copying answers, using unauthorized electronic devices, or referring to pre-prepared notes in closed book assessments.
PlagiarismThe wrongful close imitation, or copying and publication of another person’s language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions, and representing them as one's own work.
Consequences of Misconduct
Cheating and plagiarism during assessments are treated as a breach of the Code of Conduct and are deemed 'Academic Misconduct'. Consequences may include:
- Assessment submission being invalidated.
- Disciplinary action as per the Misconduct Policy.
- Removal from the course.
- No refund is applicable to the student in such circumstances.
Referencing
Students are required to use proper referencing (APA 6th referencing Style) to acknowledge all sources used in their work, including words, ideas, facts, images, and data.
